On Thursday (Aug 4th) Street Laced Marketing along with the Ian Beckles Foundation held a Back To School Bash for the kids at the Wilbert E. Davis/Belmont Heights Boys & Girls Club. We were challenged with the task of raising funds to provide 130 underprivileged kids at the Boys & Girls Club with backpacks filled with necessary school supplies to help set them off on a confident path to start the school year. With the help of our Tampa Bay community and our amazing sponsors, we were able to raise enough funds to take care of the 130 students!

Not only did the kids all get brand new Street Laced backpacks filled with supplies, but our friends at The Krewe of Alegria and their “Kickin’ For Kids” program allowed us to outfit every one them with a new pair of shoes! But that wasn’t all…our friends at PDQ and Mini-Doughnuts Factory had plenty of food and treats on hand to help them celebrate, Street Laced DJ’s own DJ Jimi-O, DJ Shizm and DJ Sandman from 95.7 The Beat mixed music LIVE while the Tampa Bay Buccaneers led the kids in a Quarterback Challenge!
Still not enough for a Street Laced party though, so we called in our friends at Eyes on You Salon to give away free haircut certificates to the kids and Bess The Book Bus was parked out front as each kid was able to go on the bus and pick out two books of their choice to keep!

It was an unbelievably gratifying experience for us to see the smiles and happiness exuding from those kids faces. We can’t wait to do it again. Please have a look at some of the sites from the event below!
