Talk about starting the new year with a BANG, Vice President of Street Laced, Greg Wolf, is surely off and skating to start 2023! The 16-year veteran In-Game Host for the Tampa Bay Lightning just finished hosting one of the most iconic sporting events of the season which took place in one of the most storied venues in sports: The 2023 Discover NHL Winter Classic in Boston’s Fenway Park! The league’s best Boston Bruins outlasted Sidney Crosby’s Pittsburgh Penguins in a thriller that came down to the final minutes of the game and you already know Bruins fans were reeling off the energy that Wolf surely brought onto their fabled grounds.
Wolf co-hosted the event with Bruins In-Game Host/Reporter Michaela Johnson, who also was in Nashville last year when the Bolts bested the Nashville Predators in what was the Lightning’s first ever outdoor game.
Wolf and Johnson will reunite in February to host again for what is essentially the “trifecta” of NHL events: The 2023 NHL All-Star Weekend (Sunrise, Florida) …AND The 2023 NHL Stadium Series (Raleigh, North Carolina) which will pit Alexander Ovechkin and the Washington Capitals against Sebastian Aho and the Carolina Hurricanes in the home of the N.C State Wolfpack Football Team: Carter-Finley Stadium.
What an amazing accomplishment for Wolf who has been a part of major NHL events going back to 2018 when he hosted his first NHL All-Star Weekend, which happened to be at Amalie Arena. The following year, Wolf hosted the 2019 NHL Global Series in Stockholm, Sweden before back-to-back Stanley Cup Championships. Last year, Wolf hosted the 2022 NHL All-Star Weekend festivities in Las Vegas and the 2022 Stanley Cup Final again in Tampa.
“This year is surely off to a hell of a start!”, Wolf said. “I am just truly humbled to be on the leagues call-list, per say, for these amazing and historic events. It’s a testament to the amazing product the Tampa Bay Lightning Vision crew puts on every single night in our barn and I’m just a small part of that. It’s pretty awesome that the league loves what we do and wants the rest of the world to see how Tampa does things!”
